Mission

  1. Our goal is to support people in need by helping them to rise from their current situations by addressing their immediate needs and the root causes of their issues.

  2. We are communicating information about voter registration by sharing voter registration requirements, applications, and support services.

  3. We are empowering people by hosting events to help people register to vote, complete applications for rent relief, energy bill, unemployment insurance, and other social services.

Since the start of the pandemic, we have shifted our focus to the coronavirus, by sharing resources for COVID-19 testing and vaccine locations. We provided information about medicines people can take to reduce the symptoms of COVID-19, locations and hours of operation for testing locations, and support for registering for the vaccine. We have been helping people to schedule their vaccine appointments, get assistance with completing the forms, and taking care of people after they received their vaccines.

COVID-19 caused a huge increase in job losses, so people were struggling to pay their bills and put food on the table. While we continued to volunteer to host food and clothing donation drives, and sharing resources for food banks and clothing centers, we partnered with other nonprofit organizations to help people to pay their bills. We are helping people with low-income to complete applications for rent relief, energy bills, unemployment insurance, and stimulus packages so they do not become homeless. We have mainly devoted our efforts to helping people who speak Spanish and French, since they have the most difficulty completing applications, while our partners have been helping people who speak English.
